Woodberry Down

Woodberry Down

Client: Berkeley Homes (East London) Ltd

Contractor:

Architect: Holland Green Architects

Project Type: Building Control Consultancy Services

BCC Consultancy is delighted to have been selected by Berkeley to deliver Building Control consultancy services on their Woodberry Down – Phase 4 project. Woodberry Down is one of Europe’s biggest single-site regeneration projects and over 20 years the estate is being completely redeveloped to provide more than 5,500 new homes, community facilities and better public spaces.

The contract will see BCC deliver the Building Control elements in support of the Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) set up by Berkeley as part of their Gateway 2 submission to the Building Safety Regulator (BSR).

BCC’s Business Development Manager, Martin Barrett, said: “we are obviously delighted to be selected by Berkeley on this prestigious project. It’s a fantastic vote of confidence in our capability and competency in what is a relatively new market. It’s also a new way of working for all of us. We have assembled a great team and are looking forward to making a significant contribution to the MDT and also learning from the process.”

Tom Hopkins (Berkeley, Project Technical Director), said: “As the industry transitions into this new era of construction, it is imperative that a strong design team is appointed covering all disciplines to deliver the upfront deliverables, to provide evidence of compliance to the building regulations. Having BCC part of the design team, will provide a robust compliance statement when submitting our Gateway 2 application. We look forward to working with Gary, Martin, David and the BCC team.”
